After graduating with a BA in Fine Arts from the School of Fine Arts in Pontevedra, University of Vigo, in 2005 he obtained a PhD from the same institution with a dissertation titled The City of Mirrors. In 2005-2006 he worked at the Culture Office at the Ourense University Campus. In 2007, García Gómez del Valle moved to Barcelona to complete a Master in Art and New Media Curatorship and Cultural Practices at the Media Centre d´Art i Disseny MECAD.

He has obtained a number of distinctions and his work has been included in group exhibitions. In 2008 he was selected for and awarded at the Generación 2008 Prize organised by Caja Madrid’s social responsibility programme. In 2009 he took part in Talent Latent, an exhibition organised by Cristina Zelich for Centro de Arte Santa Mónica, in Barcelona, as part of the SCAN´09 photography festival.

From 2007 to 2010 he was coordinator and curator of Alterarte, an exhibition venue belonging to University of Vigo. In 2010 he moved to Berlin invited by the Culturia art residency programme. In 2011 he co-founded NODE Centre for Curatorial Studies, Berlin, and in 2012 he created callforcurators.com, a platform which he currently coordinates, combining this activity with his teaching at visionsofart.org.
